Tal vez parece que siempre estoy encantada con las parejas de las bodas que organizo, pero no es igual en todos los casos. Hay novios que admiro por su perseverancia, otros me inspiran con su compromiso mutuo y algunos me enseñan a ser paciente…

Pero hay parejas que sobresalen por alguna razón. Y ése es el caso de Jamee & Alex.

Cuando los conocí, me emocionó el proyecto por el reto que representaba: ambos viven en Estados Unidos, así que el contacto sería casi completamente por teléfono. Esto siempre implica un grado extra de complejidad y que los novios, como fue el caso, confíen 100% en mí para ayudarles a planear a distancia la boda de sus sueños.

Esta vez, la familia de Alex se involucró para apoyarlos mucho y ayudarles con la toma de decisiones que implicaba su presencia. Esto facilitó las cosas y les dio mucha paz a los novios. Martha y José Luis aportaron su experiencia y buen gusto para que todo saliera mejor. Incluso hasta el final, aportaron su buena vibra para prender la fiesta ¡y hacerla extra divertida!

Aunque no vi a los novios hasta el día de la boda, con las llamadas y pláticas fui descubriendo cuán maravillosos y especiales eran. Ya en la boda, con las palabras de sus seres queridos, entendí por qué me parecían tan especiales. Su historia implica un gran amor. Superaron muchos obstáculos que exigieron su paciencia y en los que demostraron su mutua confianza. Fue muy hermoso para mí escuchar cómo desde el principio tuvieron muy claro que serían equipo en las buenas y en las malas y que siempre supieron lo afortunados que eran de haberse encontrado…

Por eso no me sorprendió ver la gratitud que sentía la familia de Alex por Jamee y viceversa. Un amor así, que trasciende a la pareja e inspira a la familia, jamás dejará de conmoverme hasta los huesos.

Pero comencemos por el principio. La ciudad elegida en esta ocasión fue San Miguel de Allende.

Los invitados, casi todos estadounidenses, vivieron la experiencia de una boda mexicana en todo su esplendor.

Primero, la tradicional callejoneada el día anterior, culminando en un coctel de bienvenida.

La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, la catedral de San Miguel de Allende, donde fue la ceremonia religiosa, es sin duda una de las más hermosas de México y del mundo.

La Casa Chorro, quizá la casa más emblemática de todo San Miguel, hospedó a los más cercanos y recibió a todos para festejar en sus jardines.

El montaje, con mobiliario de Etcétera y flores de Renata Téllez, quedó increíble. El banquete, a cargo de LeCuisine, consistió en diversos y deliciosos guisos típicos mexicanos, en un formato relajado de bufete.

Luego unas palabras muy sentidas de la familia… ¡y a festejar se ha dicho!

Mi momento favorito fue después de comer: todos los jóvenes, sin planearlo, regresaron a la casa a disfrutar del atardecer y pasar un rato respirando la brisa de San Miguel… Antes de empezar con el baile y la alegre locura que se antoja cuando una pareja como Jamee y Alex, para alegría de todos, por fin se hacen llamar husband and wife.

Maybe it seems that I am always delighted with the couples of the weddings that I organize, but it is not always the same. There are couples that I admire for their perseverance, others inspire me with their mutual commitment, and others teach me how to be patient...

But there are couples who stand out for some reason. And that is the case with Jamee & Alex.

When I met them, I felt motivated by the project because of the challenge it represented: they live in the United States, so the contact would be completely by phone. This always implies an extra level of complexity: it is very important that both, bride and groom, trust me 100% in order to help them plan the wedding of their dreams from a distance.

This time, Alex’s family got involved to support and help them with the decision-making that their presence implied. This made things easier and gave the bride and groom a lot of peace. Martha and José Luis contributed with their experience and good taste so that everything would fall into place. Even until the end, they brought their good vibes to start the party and make it extra fun!

Although I didn’t see the bride and groom until the wedding day, with the calls and talks I discovered how wonderful and special they were. In the wedding, I understood why they seemed so special to me, because of the words of their loved ones. His story implies a great love. They overcame many obstacles that demanded their patience and in which they demonstrated their mutual trust. It was very beautiful for me to hear how from the beginning they were very clear that they would be a team for better or for worse, and that they always knew how lucky they were to have met one another...

Because of that, I was not surprised to see the gratitude of Alex’s family for Jamee, and vice versa. Such a love, which transcends the couple and inspires the family, will never stop moving me in an infinite manner.

But let’s start at the beginning. In this occasion, the city chosen was San Miguel de Allende.

The guests, almost all Americans, lived the experience of a Mexican wedding in all its glory.

First, the previous day, everybody enjoyed the traditional callejoneada, a kind of parade with music that finished in a welcoming cocktail.

The religious ceremony was in Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, the cathedral of San Miguel de Allende, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Mexico and the world.

Casa Chorro, perhaps the most emblematic house in all of San Miguel, was the one that hosted the closest family and friends, and welcomed them to celebrate in their gardens.

The setting for the banquet, with furniture by Etcétera and flowers by Renata Téllez, was beautiful. The banquet was catered by LeCuisine, and typical Mexican stews were served in a relax buffet format.

Then, some heartfelt words by the family… and time to celebrate!

My favorite moment was after the meal: all the young people, without planning it, returned to the house to enjoy the sunset, and spend some time breathing the breeze of San Miguel… Before starting with the dance and the joyful madness that seems to appear when a couple like Jamee and Alex, to everyone’s delight, finally call themselves husband and wife.
